your local cat dealer should have most parts available. some bits like bearings, seals and rings are also available after-market. you just need a parts book to get the appropriate part numbers.

Florin Tractor 1-800-223-9916 can supply the parts for a rebuild. Your D6B is not a good candidate for a re-power because it uses a hydraulic pump that is gear-driven mounted on the timing cover of the 333.
I'm in the process of overhauling my D6B 44A engine and the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump is not available from any source. Florin Tractor was finally able to locate the parts to rebuild my pump but just the parts was over $1,000.00 so take care of that pump!
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but a D6B with a bad engine is not a good way to get a 'dozer on the cheap!

I'm no expert but I'd think you'd be able move your battery starter and delete the pony motor? Unless those are different engines, like a D318??

1965 should be one of the last with the pony motor options (Old Magnet please correct me if I'm wrong). in mid 1954 the D318 and D315 started milling holes for direct start in the boss just under the Pinion clutch. Pony Motors and direct starting were both options from then on.

not sure but I think
I read somewhere in the Cat Lit. researching for the 1960 955E that June 30th 1964 was the cutoff date for Pony Motors to be an option. After that date I'm thinking they were considered NOS.

Pony motors for the D6B lasted into 1967, basically were dropped when the D333a (4-1/2'" bore) changed to the D333c (4-3/4" bore)
D333t (turbo) could be the same as the D333a (NA) unless it's actually a D333ct.
Turbo engines usually have piston cooling jets (oil) that the NA engines don't use
