This D4 ran fairly well but needed a governor. Had to pull the head because of leakage. Found one marginal valve. 
  Cosmetically it was a disaster. Had bolt on fender extension that were bolted on. The fenders underneath were cracked and bent. Difficult to find any decent orchard fenders anywhere, so I had to deal with them. There must have been 20 holes drilled in them.
    Not a straight piece of tin on the entire tractor really. Hood was bent and warped. Gauge panel bent, broken and torched.  Steering, clutch and fuel linkages levers all bent, wallowed out. No lower engine panels. Many broken bolts throughout. Drawbar and slidebar were shot. Even the fuel tank was dented. That kind of sums up how bad it was. It was a huge amount of work but I enjoyed doing it and the customer was very happy when I delivered it.  Here are a pics of some of the process.

That must be an Aussie tractor, all the ones I find are like that but it shows how hardy these machines are, and what punishment they have taken through the years. (If only they could talk)
