Hoping there might be some advice and wisdom about finding a parts and repair manual for my grader, thinking especially of the drives and gear boxes, the power control box, and etc. I have a service manual and a manual that covers the engine and electrical. Also wondering about how to make sense of my S/N relative to the manuals. I am 59H498. So far I have seen nothing on eBay or the web that would seem to include my serial number. Might it be because mine is a Canadian made machine?

Related to that, I think there are supposed to be some nylon shims that allow the circle to move smoothly. Among other things, I am trying to see what is supposed to be going on with the circle and etc.

The Canadian 59Hxxxx is equivalent to a US 73Gxxxx model.

Neil, appreciate the pointer to Cat Legendary Literature. But when I do a Google, it takes me to official Cat site, where I can find no references or connections to old manuals and such. Do you have a URL for them?  Thanks!

Heaps of parts books for 59Hxxxx on ebay and a few workshop manuals for 73Gxxxx. I searched for "59H grader" and "73G grader".
If you do buy from ebay try to make sure you get the most recent publication date otherwise you might find out the book was published before your grader was built and may not be accurate.

Another question that likely shows my ignorance--are there repair manuals? I have the operator and maintanence manual. I have just ordered the parts manual. Are there other manuals that would be especially usefull to have in hand?

You need to look for the "Service Manual" for the 59H. Probably will have to settle for the 73G version.
