I would like to express my thanks to all the viewers, members and ACMOC for voting my Diesel Seventy-Five for favorite Caterpillar Tractor. My dad and I put alot of work and time into it to make it run and operate like new again and help from ACMOC members and folks on the west coast for parts. It was a great joy to have it on the front cover of the ACMOC #153 issue.

Congratulations on your win. From the videos, it looks well deserved.
That said though, those videos look to be TERRIBLY stressful. If you find that it's too much stress handling all that equipment, I'll volunteer to come over and give you a break.

Lol, much appreciated Deas! Thanks. Yea it got a little boring there for a bit after all the plow day tractors parked I was the only one left in the field, oh well I enjoyed the music of the D11000 exhaust and watching the tracks go round n round. Could of taken a nice nap to all that, lol.

Gary, that looks really nice. How hard did the tractor work pulling those two sets? What width / disk diameter would be suitable for a 5U in average conditions? I would like to pick up a set for my unit.

Yep, I know what you mean. Many years ago, I did a fair bit of farm dam-sinking/pond building with a D8H. MANY Mondays, I would pick up a bladeful in the bottom, start heading up the bank, wake up at the top as the load fell off and the engine revs picked up, pull it into reverse, back down and repeat.
Ah, the memories.

It was a medium load, pulled along in 4th gear. A D2 should be able to pull a 12' gang disk easy.

That tractor is pretty sweet, cool that you worked on it with your dad. Always amazing to me how an engine that turns so slow could make so much power. Plus they sound so cool

Congratulations! Very nice unit and thanks for the videos. Never seen a pair of tandem disks hooked together.
I will confess, I voted for Skinner’s tractor. Maybe I was biased because I admire Jon-Mark and his hard working/hard playing family. 😝 Nevertheless, I figure anyone that made the effort to enter their iron in the contest is a winner! JM

thats my idea of a tractor pull. sadly we cant have that sort of working display everywhere we take old tractors. either not enough room or the land owners dont want the ground plowed up some times its becuase dickheads have ruined it for others by not cleaning up after themselves and leave the place as good or better than it was beforehand.

Yea first time when I had the big Rome disk behind pulling in second and got to the end of the field to turn I thought it would stall out but went to turn and the governor just gave her a little more and she just lugged right through the turn, I smiled and looked at my dad riding next to me and said "now there's some torque!"
