One piece at a time... so the song goes.
One good thing about a “lockdown” I can use that excuse to work on projects.
I’m waiting on decal ideas.
Should I go with the original time period correct, or use what strikes the mood?
I might change out the edges still. This one was set up to cut “round” rather than flat.
Any ideas?
TIA, JM

Go with original time period decals, the rest of the scraper is well done why spoil it with incorrect decals.

Skinner: How many Lone Stars so far?
I went to my local grain trailer builder in Woodland, CA.
First time in history that they knocked out a job so quickly. Sadly, I could not justify spending more $ to have them smooth out all of the dimples from the pitted iron. Compared to what they started with, it’s way better. I’m afraid of the bill that will arrive.
40 número 2 might make it your way or even Ritchie Bros.
Many days go by where I wished I had my own blasting and painting booth.
I’m even looking into having the other one powder coated.
Thanks for the kind comments. JM

A very classy job! they look like an easy loading scraper a lot better than my old ATECO it was never fun, what parts do you want to powder coat ? I tried to do 2 AG6 swing frames they did not want to do them. Said they were too heavy take too long to get them hot enough too cure painted black IMRON instead. 17afarmer

Kind words from everyone. Thank you!
We have a local shop that may be able to sand/media blast my other #40. They have a powder coat booth that the scraper may fit into.
Both scrapers had the wheels glass beaded and powder coated by Les Schwab Tire Co.
I am pleased as to how this one turned out. As mentioned, it was pretty darn rough looking in the beginning. I am afraid to let it get dirty now! Better yet, I don't have any shiny tractors to hook it up to, for proper presentation. Now, if I had somewhere pressing to go to, it would really be an issue. No shows just yet. JM
