While working for a neighbor a few weeks ago, he had me stop to take a few pictures, this one of me with the D2, arch and a couple nice logs came out pretty well.
It was a pretty long pull up an old skid road but the little Cat did ok.

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like World War 2 bomber tires and wheels.

Darrol,
You are right about the tires, they are a 56 inch, 22 ply tire that was used on the B29 and a couple other aircraft, the wheels look like some kind of aluminum alloy and are each rated for a 35,000 lb static load. I wonder if that meant you could take off with a heavy load but had best deliver your ordinance and burn off some fuel before trying to land?

GWH,
The first load with those two big logs was all the D2 could handle, first gear all the way and a lot of spinning the tracks, the next two sections it walked out in third with no problem.

Josh: If I remeber how to do it, I wll send picture of my 6 to 9 yard scraper I built a time ago. It too has a couple of 56 tires and rims such you show.
